Where is grocery run

Now, we serve families or individuals each week. They are disproportionately impacted by systemic inequities: job and income loss, lack of affordable housing, precarious work conditions, and public health restrictions. Grocery Run uses a combination of food rescue and local food procurement. Through strong working relationships with local food producers and local businesses we also purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at an affordable price to ensure each family receives adequate and nutritious food.

The Grocery Run is operated by a strong team of more than 60 community volunteers. On Thursday and Friday mornings, a team 10 to 15 volunteers assembles food hampers by processing donations, portioning and packing the food. In the afternoon another team of volunteer delivery drivers will pick up the grocery hampers from the Edmonton Intercultural Centre and deliver them directly to the families homes all across the city.
